Th3 special eventTonto Revisited – Native American Stereotypes  Curated by Cayuga/Seneca artist Tom Huff. The exhibit exposes the cultural mythology surrounding Native American culture.

Dogs in Transition:Pit Bulls and Mill Dogs, by artist Cyrus Mejia, including large-scale paintings and drawings of pit bull dogs, as well as paintings reflecting on the cruelty of puppy mill businesses. Screening of the Australian documentary “The Puppy Mill” portraying how increased demands for specific breeds led to inhumane treatment at 7pm.

Main Gallery: RIGO 23: The Tate Wikikuwa Museum: North America 2024. San Francisco based artist Rigo 23 is known for his highly political site-specific work. The exhibition title refers specifically to Leonard Peltier’s given name in Lakota. Window Projects: Tom Huff, the local Native American artist, presents an installation relating to Peltier.  Artists will be present at the Opening Reception. (And and Nov. 20th, 3-6pm: A screening of Incident at Oglala, followed by a roundtable discussion on Leonard Peltier & the Civil Rights movement.)

Both events are presented in collaboration with Light Work and are curated by Stephan Stoyanov.
